The Wastewater Department maintains and operates facilities which provide the City of Lebanon with safe treatment of its wastewater. Wastewater is treated at the City of Lebanon Wastewater Treatment Plant and then discharged into Hardin’s Creek.
The Wastewater Treatment Plant has a design capacity of 3 million gallons per day, and currently has an average daily flow of 1 million gallons. The types of treatment include primary, secondary using aeration, clarification and post-treatment aeration, and ultraviolet disinfection.
Pretreatment program administration is used to enforce the City of Lebanon’s Sewer Use Ordinance as it pertains to commercial, industrial, and residential wastewater discharges. Wastewater discharge is tested on a regular basis to ensure compliance with state and federal EPA requirements.
The plant also serves as a regional wastewater facility accepting wastewater from the City of Loretto, Marion Adjustment Center, and St. Charles Middle School. All connected using 11 miles of force main.
The City of Lebanon owns and operates a sewer video system capable of ranges to 500 ft. in 4 in. to 18 in. pipes.
